Paul McCartney Conspiracy
Towards the end of the 1960s, a rumor started to spread: Paul McCartney (Paul McCartney conspiracy) was dead, and an impostor named William Campbell took his place.
The Paul McCartney conspiracy was disclosed to the public by a DJ in Detroit; Russ Gib. He advised listeners to look for clues in the group’s music, even listening to the music backwards. Such a “hint” can be found on verse number nine of the song Revolution 9 on the White Album, which, as it seems, become turn me on, dead man when listened in reverse.
Rumor spread faster than the growing hair of Yoko Ono. Millions of fans, and those who did not have time to lose spent hours in search of new clues that showed Paul was dead. People were looking for a conspiracy in anything, no matter how small, which had contact with the group. Each clue confirmed what many thought: Paul McCartney was dead and there is a huge conspiracy to hide it!
On the album Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts’ Club Band, Paul wears a band with the initials ODP recognized as being, typically, an acronym for Officially Pronounced Dead.
Skeptical theorists have concluded that, in the music of the Beatles, there are many indications of the death of Paul, and they were placed by the group as a metaphysic adjustment.
Rumors that Paul had died created a general state of hysteria. Fanatics were seeking clues and evidence and went everywhere to find them. Several theorists said it was just an adjustment made by the label to maintain the sales of the group.
Many assert that the CIA wanted to put an end to the strong influence of the Beatles. The CIA may have considered the group and its huge influence a threat to society, which already assisted to the scandal born by John Lennon’s comment, saying that the Beatles would be “more popular than Jesus Christ”. In 1960, they were undoubtedly gods of music and society and the agency considered the group a threat to public order. Attempting to suppress the group by the murder of Paul was not a total success, because the other three members of the group recruited William Campbell, winner of a ringer contest.
In The Michigan Daily, Fred LaBour said the Abbey Road album cover is proof of the death of Paul. He said that the Beatles appear as a group which leaves the cemetery after a funeral.
Among the many verses that could be associated with the death of Paul, there was one that stood out. In the song Glass Onion, John Lennon sang “The Walrus was Paul”. It was argued that in Greek walrus means dead body.
On the Abbey Road album cover is a license plate 28IF, interpreted by many as being the age of Paul if he had lived …, but if he had lived, Paul would be 27, not 28. Many of the disks that were listened to in reverse seemed so weird and vague; almost any sound could match a phrase. No impostor would be able to reproduce the exceptional musical talent of McCartney, and some people point to Paul McCartney’s solo career as proof that he’s the real deal.
The patch that Paul McCartney wears on the Sgt. Peppers gate-fold cover is instantly recognizable by people who live in Ontario as an O.P.P. (Ontario Provincial Police) officers badge, it does not read O.D.P. There are images of these badges aplenty on the internet, look one up.
He is NOT dead. How is that some body could look and sound just like him? Plus that contest was held before he died and it was JUST a look alike contest………So i believe he is alive

This website goes over every single detail, face comparisons, how one's head does not change shape, from round to oblong. And to the first comment, beatle fan, if you were really his cousin, i'm guessing you would be older, in which case, you should be able to spell, seen as you would have been bought up in the same day as him.
Well Nicole, if you would notice the year that he died and around that era you would see that plastic surgery was not that available.
There was plastic surgery back then. I believe Marilyn Monroe had her nose done and a couple other things. Plastic surgery has been around for a lot longer than we all know about. It was mainly done for big celebs in Hollywood back in the day.
There's no way that plastic surgery could make anyone look that identical.
Disagree SO bad.. They don't only do plastic surgery technical enough to make people identical, but they make people who've been in wrecks and completly destroyed their faces look like they've only had a minor injury. Very possible.
Are you serious we are talking more then 40 years ago the technology to exactly replicate someone through plastic surgery was not even around
I must say that it is completely possible that someone looks identical after undergoing plastic surgery. One of my friends is a Broadway actress. She did the same thing to become a double for the lead actress *for security reasons I am not allowed to disclose their names*. Before the surgery, she looked extremely alike, but she went to have plastic surgery so that her facial features would be a mirror image of those of the lead actress. I went to see her backstage, and found the lead, instead. except for the fact that my friend's skin is slightly darker, you cannot tell them apart, due to the surgery.
As many times that I've seen this, it still creeps me the hell out.

HAHAHAHAHA They've been going around this FOR YEARS! people who are obsessed with finding this to be true WILL DO! if I want to think my husband looks like Paul McCartney I WILL find similarities: slanted eyes, narrow nose, small mouth, but that doesn't make HIM Paul McCartney. I look different in ALL my pictures! It all depends on the angle, if I'm smiling, the light/shades, my expression, EVERYTHING!
I really believe the Beatles had fun confusing people with all this and probably did some things on purpose (his barefoot, the Sergeant Pepper cover, etc.) to keep people talking about them. And they did a great job!

Paul is NOT dead. Well here's the reasons. Only Paul would know this one, Paul is NOT British or English, He is actually Scottish and Irish. I also know because i met him at his New York City Concert. And back in 1966 to 1969 Plastic Surgery was not as much of a major profession back in that time, not only until the late 70's. If he did die, We would've known for sure, these are little rumors that I myself are turning down. Because these little Rumors and just little. There is NO Autopsy Report, no Gravestones. No Automobile Death Reports from that small time spam in 1966. Believe me, I checked every single newspaper and Obituary Column this is on The Beatles.
Look Ive read the article and watched the video and its easy to find a conspiracy in the beatles Lyrics because they dont really make sense. But look at it this way, if he had died why would the beatles leave clues in there music? That's just silly. Also how sick would it be if they did did that? Seriously, the way they talk about him in these supposed 'clues' Dressing him up as a symbol of death? Singing happily about the fool buried on the hill? This ridiculous. And anybody who believes this is also. Although i must admit, watching the videos are very eery and imply an ominous mood to the whole situation, but don't let it fool you. Its bullshit.
Well no shit they couldn't make people look identical. Did ANYONE pay attention to the "look-alike contest?"
1. They have a face, that already looks a good bit like Pauls.
2. They don't need extensive surgery to change a "look-alike" to look even MORE like someone.
Paul Mccartney is ALIVE. Why would John, Ringo, and George even want to replace him? WHERE would they hide Paul's body?? If they really didn't want anyone to know, why would they put hints in their songs/pictures?
Like many of the comments on here say, plastic surgery was not capable of perfect detailing at the time. Sure, there was probably someone who very closely resembled Paul Mccartney, but it's extremely unlikely for someone to sound exactly like him, and have the same facial structure, imagination, song writing technique, and instrumental ability.
Well, I remember hearing bits and pieces of the rumor when I was younger, and really never thought much of it. After watching the movie about George Harrison's "confession", I must say, it makes me wonder…but still seems a bit far fetched. Very interesting though.
Paul isn't dead. No one can copy his voice or facial features. No conspiracy just something to do because your bored. It's so stupid how people find hidden meanings and blow it out of proportion.
Okay if someone answers this question, I will believe that he is dead: how was his voice exactly the same? Like the same pitch and everything. That's the only thing that gets me.
As far as surgery, many claim that there was a secret project called M15 that allowed them to make his look-alike a dopple of Paul. And that the drugs were part of his healing and took the edge off after surgery
Many people have said that plastic surgery is an impossible feat for this myth, because plastic surgery wasn't 'around' at the time of the 60's. That is completely untrue. Sure, they did not have the technology that we have today, making it much easier to do said surgeries, but it is indeed a plausible argument. "Plastic Surgery" in archaic form has been around since 800BC, and most techniques and procedures were perfected in World War I and World War 2, on soldiers. It is plausible to think that one could receive said surgery on governmental request. Hell, they were doing female to male plastic surgeries in the 40's.
Honestly, I don't have an opinion either way. On the one hand, the evidence is interesting. On the other hand, the story seems far-fetched and straight out of a science fiction novel.
The Vocal Change
Paul's voice noticably changed between the end of 1966 and 1967. Paul's original voice, before the alleged death, has a lovely soft tone to it. However, because he sang from the throat the years of endless touring and singing where he sometimes yelled his words out took their toll, and by the beginning of 1966 it was starting to get hoarse. You can hear this hoarseness starting to crackle as he sings 'She's a Woman'. If this style of singing is compared how he sang on a number of songs released in 1967 you can definitely hear a difference in voice. Take 'Lady Madonna' for example. In this song Paul's voice is suddenly a lot clearer and has lot the softness that it originally had. It's also very clear and although singing in the same kind of range he used in 'She's a Woman' all of the hoarsenss and crackling of the voice has gone. Vocal chords can't just suddenly fix themselves – one nodule and you're finished. A number of people who have compared the vocals from different songs around this period say they can hear a difference. Scientists who has also analysed Paul's vocals have concluded that there is 'reasonable doubt' that the same set of vocal chords were used on numbers that McCartney is alleged to have sung.

i'm not really going for this story,but it was an interesting view. i would like to add though that a government agency with the status of mi5 should most certainly be ahead of the rest of the regular population in plastic surgery technology in 1966.
Beatles, the droopy eyes is a typical european facial feature. I have it (I am german) and so does my dad and so did my mom and my siblings and pretty much more then half the people I grew up with and one eye typically droops a little lower than the other.

I thought it was complete nonsense too when I first heard about it a few years ago until I saw that documentary and did a little fact checking myself. Nobody that is left handed all of a sudden turns right handed. I also saw a picture of Paul from 1966 and one from 1968 side by side, NOT the same person, even to the untrained eye.
The Abbey Road album cover is NOT depicting the Beatles walking from a cemetary or funeral. Anyone who knew anything about The Beatles would know that that picture is taken on the crosswalk outside their recording studio in St. John's Wood. As someone who has lived in that area of London, I can tell you that there is absolutely no place where a funeral would be held anywhere in the vicinity of where they are. They're walking towards the tube station, perhaps…but there is no Church or cemetary in the vicinity.
I don't know how walking behind someone, or walking barefoot, represents death…
The idea that the CIA killed him is just absurd. The fact that The Beatles were a huge band (sparking the creation of an even bigger industry that makes billions of dollars a year) is not a motive to kill him for a government organisation. It's utter paranoia to think otherwise.
Also, why on earth would he continue a solo career if he was not Paul McCartney? That would be taking massive risks in them uncovering it.
The plastic surgery at the time was by no means advanced enough to be able to change every subtle feature that Paul has! It's not even advanced enough now!

The Beatles themselves were more than aware of the conspiracy. They knew people actually thought Paul was dead, so they even admitted to putting 'red herrings' on album covers and lyrics. They wanted people to think he might actually be dead. It was all a joke that the Beatles themselves were a part of.
More “clues” are included elsewhere. The night he supposedly died, he picked up a woman named rita on his way back from a recording session in his silver aston martin. Shortly after he is said to wrecked, killing both himself, and rita. Thus, lyrics about rita came around. Also take the cover of sgt peppers, many so called “clues” are displayed on there as well. First of all, they make him stand out like in every other album. each is holding an instrument they dont know how to play, but while the others are holding brass instruments, he is holding a woodwind. Next, people like edgar allan poe, and marilyn monroe are displayed in the background, people notorious for early death. Next, the girl in the white on the far right had a silvet aston martin in her lap, and a bloody driving glove next to her. The flowers are said to represent a funeral, and the small circle on the right is said to show the words when you break “beatles” down, be at leso. Coincidentally, leso was an island the beatles had contemplated buying. This is said to be his supposed burial site. Other “clues”, such as an outstretched hand over his head are said to be a preacher, blessing his grave. The walrus was actually nordic mythologys sign of death. The beatles albums also changed after the time of his supposed death. Each before this time period had said “the beatles”, while every album afterwards only said “beatles” implying to some that they were not the original beatles. The look alike that supposedly replaced him had a stage name(cant remember right now :/) and it was said that he was “introduced” in the lyrics of one of their songs soon after by his stage name. Also in one of their songs, john is heard sayimg “yeah, hes dead” towards the end, and in revolution 9, there is a sound of a car crash. Who really knows? I cant say if I believe it or not, but it certainly is one of the most interesting conspiracies ever.
